Bacliff Location prior to Rebuild    LCM Building Today

Our Mission

Lighthouse Christian Ministries (LCM) is a non-denominational Christian Outreach mission dedicated to assisting our neighbors in need.  LCM provides emergency financial assistance and food for short term help.  We are dedicated to serving each individual with respect and love, through Christ.

Our Location

We are located in Bacliff, Texas off of Grand Avenue (646).  Bacliff is located east of I-45 between Houston and Galveston. Our building address is:
800 Grand Avenue
Bacliff, TX 77518

Our History

We began as Bay Area Christian Services serving the small communities of upper Galveston Bay in 1997.  We have been supported through prayers and financial support from our neighbors, area churches and businesses.  They have supported the ministry by donations of cash, food, clothing, and resale items including furniture, house wares, and electronics.  In the beginning, we operated from a 1,000 sq ft resale shop in Kemah.  Our core values for LCM include having 100% of monetary donations going back into the community in the form of emergency assistance or education and always giving God the glory by offering to pray with our clients and encouraging each person to find a Christian church home.

The Lord, through generous supporters, blessed LCM and enabled us to expand our ministry from annual outreach budget of less than $15,000 in 1998 to over $100,000 today.  The outreach has expanded to include an Educational Scholarship Fund, a free Medical Clinic, and daily food distribution with deliveries from the Houston Food Bank.  Our hope is to touch even more lives in our surrounding area.  Benevolence giving (which involves minimal financial support to those struggling with everyday living expenses such as rent and utilities) are provided 2 days each week.  Many lives have been touched through LCM's effort to spread the "Good News" and help those who come in contact with our organization to realize the importance of allowing God into their lives and finding a Christian church home.

Meet our Staff

Terry Gussler, Director of Medical Ministries
Chuck and Terry are the heart and soul of this ministry. They love people and they love Jesus; they live and breathe their faith. They love to travel and they love spending time with their family.

She began her work for the ministry in September of 2001 and has been a strong tower of prayer and wisdom ever since. She has been married to her husband, Buddy, for 10 years. Between the two of them they have seven children and 6 grand children. They enjoy the outdoors together and only wish they had time for more adventures. Linda is also very involved in the community through the C.A.R.E. center, her church and us. She sits on the Board of Directors for the C.A.R.E. center and here. At her church, she stays very involved especially through her leadership of one of the ministry teams. If you would like to meet her, she would be easy to find at her church, Bayshore Friends or another local church where she leads a small group.
